How slow can I run a motor with a VFD?
Optimum operating frequency range of variable frequency motor
1. The variable frequency motor can operate for a long time in the range of 0.1HZ--130HZ. The minimum operating frequency is 0.1Hz and the maximum operating frequency is about 200 to 500Hz.
(1) 2-pole ordinary motors operate in the 20--65hz range for long periods of time
(2) 4-pole ordinary motors operate in the 25--75hz range for long periods of time
(3) The 6-pole ordinary motor operates in the range of 30--85hz for a long time:
(4) The 8-pole ordinary motor operates in the 35--100hz range for a long time
2. However, in actual work, the maximum output frequency of the inverter cannot be greater than the power frequency of the power supply. According to the rated frequency on the motor nameplate, we can know that the frequency conversion range of the motor should be 0Hz to (power frequency Hz.
3. The frequency conversion range of the variable frequency motor is very large, but the maximum frequency in actual use is generally not larger than the power frequency.
4. The commonly used frequency range is 1--400hz; but in actual use, considering that the motor is designed according to the power frequency of 50hz, the use is only within the range of 20--50hz.
